Step 1 – Pre-Clean Inspection
Before any cleaning begins, our technician inspects the tank interior using a torch and, for large tanks, a camera. We document the current condition — sediment depth, algae growth, biofilm extent, structural integrity, and inlet/outlet condition — and take photographs. This inspection determines cleaning time and any structural issues that need flagging.
Step 2 – Complete Tank Draining
The tank is fully drained before any scrubbing begins. Draining into a drain or suitable discharge point is confirmed before work starts so no wastewater causes property damage. For underground tanks, submersible pumps are used. We never begin scrubbing with water still in the tank — a common shortcut that leaves contamination behind.
Step 3 – Physical Scrubbing of All Surfaces
All internal surfaces — floor, walls, and roof — are physically scrubbed with food-safe brushes to remove biofilm, algae, sediment, and scale. This physical removal step is critical and cannot be replaced by chemicals alone. Disinfectants do not penetrate biofilm; scrubbing removes it completely.
